ARES Systems Group wins Air Force Phase I SBIR
Alexandria, Virginia. – March 31, 2009 – ARES Advanced Engineering Group was excited to win its first SBIR for the Air Force, researching a tracking technology solution for the location of unexploded ordinance. The SBIR topic AF083-236 was chosen by ARES because of its high overlap with current ARES research in device tagging and tracking. The unique solution proposed by ARES will allow unexploded ordinance (UXO) teams to locate munitions on test ranges by allowing them to quickly comb large ares of military test ranges while maintaining a safe operating distance. "This solution will not only prevent injury, but will massively reduce the costs of current search operations at ranges," according to engineers involved with the project.
ARES is expected to complete the Phase I research in December of 2009.
